About the Building
Knowlman’s building holds iconic status in Goulburn. Knowlman’s was a family run business with generational connections in the region and established the business in 1888.
John Knolwman referred to the location as the “right store on the wrong corner”. After years as a family run store the building changed hands with the winding up of the Knowlman’s business and after a period of being vacant was tragically burnt down by arosnists in 1999. The building was rebuilt in the style of the original building and we recognise the unique heritage the building has in Goulburn.
The Collective aims to support the community connection that the family business held with locals.
